Products of the domain : Krug
Johann-Joseph Krug founded his Champagne house in 1843 seeking permanent excellence. Six generations later, Krug was one of the few Champagne houses to produce only prestige wines. This is also in the biggest secret, how the assembly of different vintages is done: Fermentation in small oak barrels this operation enhances flavors.
These barrels are of an average age of 35 years, this is an exception for the Champagne. According to the cellar master of the house, the longevity of the Krug Champagne is intimately linked to the stay they do in the drums.
Krug maintains a stock of aging 6 to 8 years minimum before commercialization.
